Happiness 101

The idea that I had for this project was a student working on an assignment in class. I wanted it to show the viewer that it had to deal with school. However when I took the picture of the student and came to look at it carefully I noticed that I forgot to tell the model to smile. Since it is happiness she had to be happy, in the picture she is very serious. Then I went to school and wrote on the board happiness 101 followed by a big smiley face. I had one of my classmates model as if he was the teacher and drew the smiley face and wrote the phrase on the board. My exprience as a director of this picture was interesting since I never actually did a photograph of someone posing the way I wanted them to. It took many shots to come out with this one. I enjoyed taking a picture like this one, and I really liked it's outcome.
